Stevie WonderStevland Morris (ne Judkins, May 13 1950), better known as Stevie Wonder is an American artist and singer. He is often recognized as a pioneer in a variety of genres of music, such as blues and rhythm and gospel, jazz, soul, gospel and funk. A virtual one-man band, Wonder's use and use of synthesizers, as well as other electronic musical instruments during the 1970s transformed the norms of R&B. Wonder also contributed to the rise of genres like R&B in the album era. The albums he released were consistent and coherent as well as conscious social declarations that had complex music. Wonder, who was born blind shortly after his birth, signed with Motown's Tamla label aged 11. He was then given the professional title Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's famed critical success was at its height during the 1970s. The singer's "classic period" began in 1972, with the release of Music of My Mind and Talking Book, the latter featuring "Superstition" that is among the most unique and famous instances of the sounds of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard. The album won the Grammy Award as Album of the year for Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness' First Finale (1974) and Songs in the Key of Life ( 1976). This is the record holder of the most Album of the year wins with three. He is also the only artist to win the award three times in succession with consecutive albums. Wonder began his "commercial period" in the early 1980s. he achieved his biggest hit songs and highest level of fame.
