AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She also serves as the captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division in professional women's soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the women's national soccer team of America alongside Megan Rapinoe. [8][9The 9 Morgan was selected number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in the team's winning the league title. Morgan was just 22 at the time, making her the youngest player on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She ended 2012 with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles in both the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
